Otaku is a japanese word. I'm not sure what it means in Japanese but
it refers to people who are obsessive about a particular subject.
Manga Otaku are nuts about Manga comix, and Video Game Otaku are nuts
about Video Games.
Otaku pride themselves on knowing every detail, no matter how trivial
about the object of their obsession.
I think that a fair numer of IDM list members are IDM Otaku. In
other words Otaku == Trainspotter, more or less.
